Privacy Policy

We collect only the information required to operate DesiDeals, verify identities, display local results and keep the platform safe. This includes information you give us directly and information generated automatically as you use the platform.

Accounts on DesiDeals are created and secured using your mobile number. When you sign in, a one-time password (OTP) is sent to that number through our SMS delivery partner. We store your mobile number and the date it was verified. OTP codes are short-lived and are never stored in readable form.

If you register a business, we collect the business name, owner name, address, city, category, contact details, working hours, photos, social links, payment details such as a UPI ID, and statutory identifiers such as GST, PAN or licence numbers where you choose to provide them.

Verification documents are stored in private, access-controlled storage and are visible only to you and our verification team. They are never shown on public business pages.

Your profile may contain your name, email address, gender, date of birth, preferred language, selected city and profile photo. Only your name and photo may appear publicly, for example alongside a review you post.

We automatically record limited technical information such as browser type, device type, operating system, approximate region and anonymised network identifiers. This is used for security, fraud prevention, abuse rate-limiting and improving performance.

We use cookies and browser storage to keep you signed in, remember your selected city and measure platform performance. Full details are available in our Cookie Policy.

We use Google Analytics and our own event logging to understand how the platform is used — for example page views, searches, offer clicks and calls initiated from a listing. Analytics data is aggregated and is used to give retailers non-identifying performance insights and to improve the product. We do not use analytics data to build advertising profiles.

Location access is always optional and is requested only through your browser. If you allow it, we use your approximate coordinates to detect your city and show nearby businesses and offers. You can revoke this permission at any time from your browser settings, and DesiDeals will fall back to the city you select manually.

• To review, verify, approve or reject business listings and offers.
• To send service notifications such as approvals, rejections, expiry and status updates.
• To provide retailers with aggregated, non-identifying performance analytics.
• To detect fraud, prevent abuse and enforce our Terms & Conditions.
• To respond to enquiries, complaints and support requests.

Data is stored on secured, managed cloud infrastructure with encryption in transit, restricted administrative access and row-level access controls that limit each account to its own records. Private documents and images are served only through short-lived signed links.

DesiDeals never sells your personal information to anyone. We share data only with the service providers required to run the platform — cloud hosting and database services, SMS/OTP delivery, email delivery and analytics — and only to the extent needed to deliver those services. We may also disclose information where required by applicable law or a valid legal request.

We keep your account and business data for as long as your account is active. Moderation records, audit logs and transaction records may be retained for a longer period where required for legal, accounting or dispute-resolution purposes. Data that is no longer needed is deleted or irreversibly anonymised.

• Correct or update your name, email, mobile number, city and other details.
• Withdraw location or notification permissions.
• Request a copy of your data or ask us to restrict certain processing.
• Object to communications that are not essential service notifications.

You may request deletion of your account and personal data at any time by emailing admin@desideals.co.in from your registered email address or by contacting us from your account. On deletion we remove your profile, saved items and business listings, except records we are legally required to retain.
